Call of Duty Movie

Call of Duty MovieThe videogame franchise Call of Duty is likely to be adapted into a live-action movie. According to the rumor Activision is indeed holding discussions with the studios to bring the popular game to the big screen. The CEO of Activision Blizzard refused to comment, but I'm pretty sure the rumor is right on that one: it makes sense for the company to develop the Call of Duty brand, and a movie would be the logical next step.

For those who don't know, Call of Duty is a first-person shooter video game franchise. The majority of the games in the series have been set primarily in World War II, with the exception of Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 which are set in modern times, and Call of Duty Black Ops which is set in the Cold War era.

Actor Kevin McKidd who plays Captain "Soap" MacTavish in the game Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2, hinted at a potential movie:

"They were looking for a rough, Scottish actor in Hollywood they probably couldn't get Gerard Butler, so they got the No. 2 Gerard Butler, me. I had no idea it would be so huge, and now there are talks of a feature film."

Call of Duty has a large following of gamers who would be damn glad to watch a film based on the game. But they'd better do it right if they don't want to alienate the hardcore fans.

By the way what game of the Call of Duty series should be adapted into a movie according to you? Do you want the film to be set during World War 2, the Cold War or else?
:)
